Mentoring & Guidance
Our mentoring programs bring together peers, Club staff and community leaders to help reinforce positive values and help kids stay on the right path. All staff are trained in mentoring by the Boys & Girls Club of America and pride themselves in serving as professional role models each day, at the Club.
Passport to Manhood
Passport to Manhood encourages boys age 8 to 14 to develop and mature into young men.
We engage young boys in discussions and activities that reinforce character, leadership and positive behavior. A service project will teach boys the importance of giving back to the community.
SMART Girls
SMART Girls is a health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in three age groups. Through dynamic sessions, participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls will build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, taking care of their health and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
SMART Moves
SMART Moves (Skills Mastery and Resilience Training) is a prevention and education program for young people ages 6 through 15 that promotes abstinence from substance abuse and premature sexual behavior. Our team approach uses Club staff, peer leaders, parents and community representatives to engage our kids in discussion and role-playing. Youth will practice resilience skills, develop assertiveness, strengthen decision-making skills and recognize influences in media and peers. This program includes mentoring and case management.
