College of Laughs! College of Good Times! College of Summer 08 Memories!
Our Boys & Girls Club Summer Program has been hailed as the best in the area! Our children are busy from early morning until the end of the Camp day! After months of preparations, The Boys & Girls Club Summer Program plans are completed: Camp Fun University.
Two hundred campers, ages 6-13, come from Mays Landing, Egg Harbor Township, Pleasantville,Galloway Township, Egg Harbor City, Brigantine and Atlantic City to go on trips and do fun activities with children their own age and trained professionals.
The campers are divided into age appropriate groups. The youngest team is called “Pink Panthers”and they wear pink t-shirts! The second team is the “Yellow Jackets” they wear yellow T-shirts. Then we have the “Violet Storm” this team is our middle group they are ages 10-11 and this team wears a violet color T-shirt. Last but not least is our eldest group” Blue Lighting” This group are 12-13 years old and wear blue shirts.
Each of the teams participates in age appropriate activities. For instance, last year some our children attended the programs at the Atlantic City Library. One of the programs featured a drummer from the “House of the Blues” They not only learned how to play the drums but how to make them out of different cans & other objects .A good time was had by all. Also our older group “Blue Lightening” assisted the Rescue Mission in preparing & serving lunch. It is a experience they will never forget. During the weeks of camp the children have some competition where they can win a fishing trip that is sponsored by “The Gold Foundation”. This foundation has provided fishing poles, life jackets & lunch.
The kids love the lunch. They have these huge hot dogs, ice cream, soda & pretzels. This is a real treat. Campers visit Young Skating, Wharton State Park, Clementon Park They travel near and far .When these children come back from a trip, they are usually exhausted but always happy.So you’re probably asking”what’s new?” This year we are going to have a sports camp. It will be held at our Chelsea Site. Each day the children will experience a new out look on sports.
Character & Leadership
Your child will be taught to support and influence their clubhouse & community. They are also taught to develop and sustain meaningful relationships with other children. This will enhance their own self respect and teach them to respect others they come in contact with throughout their life.
Education & Career Development
Children will be encouraged to apply learning to everyday situations. They will be encouraged to develop aspirations for the future. Age appropriate activities will teach older children about career and educational opportunities.
Health & Life Skills
Helps your camper develop the capacity to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles, set personal goals which lead to a more successful life.
The Arts
Campers will develop self-expression and creativity. They will develop an appreciation for multi-cultural environment. The will participate in crafts & performing art.
Sports, Fitness, & Recreation
Your child will learn positive use of their leisure time, appreciation for the environment and social/interpersonal skills.
• PROGRAM 1
$960.00 for a full 8 week season of camp, your cost $520.00 provided you pay in full by July 1, 2008.
Deeper sibling discounts are as follows:
$440.00 2nd child
$360.00 3rd child
• PROGRAM 2
$120.00 per week, your cost $75.00 per week provided you pay on the following Fridays for the upcoming week: July 3,11,18 & 25, August 1,8,15 &22.
Sibling discounts are as follows:
$65.00 weekly 2nd child
$55.00 weekly 3rd child
If you chose not to take advantage of our discount programs and payment options the cost of summer camp will default to $960.00 or $120.00 per week.
